How to ensure your Fire Safety Policy is compliant

As a specialist property compliance consultant, we regularly review and redevelop compliance policies for social housing providers.  This includes improving and developing Gas, Electric, Asbestos, Fire and Water Hygiene policies.

Pennington Choices has a unique position in the marketplace as we employ technical experts from a gas, electric, asbestos, fire and water hygiene background, as well as housing practitioners that have managed property compliance at both an operational and executive level.  We undertake Compliance Health Checks for a diverse range of social housing providers nationally. This will identify any compliance gaps and risks, and includes policy review. As a result, we are well placed to ensure social housing providers achieve policy compliance.

What social housing providers need to factor into their Fire Safety Policy

Below are some of the inclusions you need to be incorporating into your Fire Safety Policy:

  • The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Fire risk assessments communal parts of premises
  • Identify and implement general fire precaution and other measures required to comply
  • Programme of re-assessments based on premises and occupation fire risk level (usually, 1, 2 or 4 years)
