Pennington Choices Ltd is pleased to announce that Darren Watmough has been appointed to chair of the board

In May 2016, Darren will begin his role as the chair of Pennington Choices’ board.

In his new role, Darren will be responsible for producing Pennington Choices’ first five-year board plan. This plan will ensure all board members have clear direction for the future and will allow members to work proactively. Darren’s five-year board plan will complement the multi-disciplinary property consultancy’s existing business strategy.

Alongside chairing all board meetings to ensure best practice, Darren will lead a review of board effectiveness. Throughout the year, Darren will play a key role in monitoring training development sessions for each board member in accordance with Pennington Choices’ commitment to continual improvement.

Upon his appointment, Darren said:

“I’m delighted to become chair of the board at a time of growth and expansion for the company as we launch new products to meet the needs of our clients and expand the geographical areas in which we operate.”

Previously, Darren has been a member of the board for three years as the non-executive director. Between 2005 and 2008, Darren supported housing associations and local authorities as Pennington Choices’ finance and governance consultant.

Darren has 26 years’ experience, including 13 years as director of finance, for social housing, voluntary and commercial sector organisations. His considerable experience within the property industry and his background within finance gives Darren the expertise to ensure Pennington Choices balances new growth whilst continuing to provide trusted support to existing clients.
