Project Overview
Harrison Housing appointed Pennington Choices to undertake Retrofit Assessments on 30 properties within their portfolio, which included a mix of flats and houses of varying construction types.
Our comprehensive Retrofit Assessments involve EPC Surveys, Condition Surveys, and Occupancy Assessments, all performed simultaneously by our skilled and accredited retrofit assessor. Undertaking all components of the assessment in one visit maximises efficiency, ensuring that all necessary data is gathered and securely stored as part of a cohesive golden thread of information. The goal of these assessments was to help Harrison Housing to understand and improve the energy performance of one particular housing estate.
The data collected during these assessments was lodged in the Elmhurst Energy platform, providing Harrison Housing with a detailed understanding of both energy efficiency and occupancy performance across the properties.
Our Approach
To ensure a smooth project delivery, we held a mobilisation meeting with the client to outline communication procedures, data output expectations, and the setup of our EPC portal. Upon project completion, we conducted a close-down meeting to address any remaining queries and finalise the project.
All data collected was lodged in the Pennington Choices EPC portal and Elmhurst Energy software, giving Harrison Housing easy access to online records of the properties' energy efficiency.
Our retrofit assessors hold the following qualifications:
• PAS 2035 certification
• CPD accreditation with Elmhurst Energy
• Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) with retrofit assessor qualifications (being a DEA first ensures a strong foundational knowledge)
Throughout the project, our assessor maintained regular communication with both tenants and Harrison Housing to ensure transparency regarding the assessment process and timelines. Following the assessments, the data was lodged in Elmhurst Energy and made available to the client for review.
Our Achievements
Harrison Housing set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to complete the assessments quickly and efficiently, and we achieved 100% success in meeting these targets. Gaining access to the properties was straightforward, allowing us to complete the project promptly.
By using the Elmhurst Energy software and our bespoke EPC portal, we provided Harrison Housing with secure, online access to all reports, which they could download as needed. The Retrofit Assessments gave Harrison Housing valuable insights into the energy performance of their properties, helping to inform the next steps in their retrofit journey.
Following the successful completion of this project, we continue to carry out EPC Surveys for Harrison Housing, a testament to the strength of our working relationship and their ongoing trust in our expertise and communication.
