But what exactly is Cyber Essentials Plus?

Developed by the UK Government, Cyber Essentials Plus is a cybersecurity certification programme designed to promote good cybersecurity practices across businesses of all sizes and industries. The programme involves a rigorous audit of an organisation's systems by highly trained assessors to confirm the implementation of essential controls outlined in Cyber Essentials. 

For Pennington Choices, achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification represents more than just a milestone; it signifies a dedication to excellence and security. As Greg highlighted, "This achievement is a testament to our proactive approach to cybersecurity. It assures our customers of our commitment to information security and the robust processes we have in place to safeguard our operations, clients, and stakeholders against cyber threats." 

Ben Morris, Head of IT, added insights into Pennington Choices’ journey, stating,
"Twelve months ago, we embarked on an IT transformation strategy. With the backing of the Board, we successfully implemented a clean slate/cloud migration of our infrastructure, culminating in the attainment of Cyber Essentials Plus certification." 

Moreover, Pennington Choices is not resting on its laurels. Ben shared, "We regularly test the security of our systems through third-party penetration tests, all of which have been successful. Our next step in the plan is to achieve ISO27001 certification for our operational systems technology."
