It’s official - Pennington Choices is now a Certified B Corporation™! Becoming a B Corp is no small feat, and we’re incredibly proud to join the likes of Ben and Jerry’s, Patagonia, and Gousto in a global group of businesses committed to meeting the highest standards for making a positive impact on people and the planet.

After 11 months of evidence gathering, polishing our environmental and social policies, and ensuring we balance profit with purpose, we’ve well and truly earnt our B Corp badge of honour. The certification process was thorough and insightful, taking us through the seven steps to certification, from securing a B Impact Assessment™ score above 80 to undergoing a detailed Evaluation and Verification process. Each stage has helped us strengthen our foundations, improve our ways of working, and push ourselves to do even better for our people, our customers, and the planet.

Becoming a B Corp means holding ourselves accountable, being part of a bigger movement for change, and always challenging ourselves to do better. From tackling the climate crisis to ensuring our employees and communities thrive, this certification is a promise that we’re committed to long-term, meaningful impact to make the world a fairer place for everyone.

Let’s take a look back on how we got certified and steps we’ve put in place to maintain these high standards:
Protecting the plant

  • Measuring our impact: We’ve published our latest Carbon Reduction Plan to measure and reduce our emissions. You can read the full plan here.

  • Joining the global Race to Zero: As part of the SME Climate Hub, we’ve pledged to cut our emissions and contribute to the UN Climate Change High-Level Champion’s Race to Zero campaign.

  • Greener commuting options: We're always exploring ways to reduce our carbon emissions. We’ve recently been trialling an electric vehicle in our fleet and partnering with the Electric Car Scheme (a fellow B Corp) to offer our employees a more sustainable way to commute.

  • Sustainable policies and procedures: We’ve introduced new policies like Sustainable Home Office Management and a Single-Use Plastics Policy to help our employees make eco-friendly choices.

  • Attaining ISO14001: The internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

  • Holding suppliers accountable: We’ve developed a new supplier questionnaire to gather data on their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies and procedures.

  • Updating our legal documentation: To make our commitment official, we’ve updated our legal documentation with Companies House, reinforcing our dedication to our people, communities, and the environment.

Empowering people

  • Encouraging collaboration: We formed a Staff Engagement Group to give our employees the opportunity to shape the future of our business.

  • Listening and improving: Regularly gathering staff feedback and taking action to enhance the working experience at Pennington Choices.

  • Investing in our team: We’re committed to continuous learning and development, offering training and career growth opportunities across the business.

  • Giving back to our communities: Through our new Employer Supported Volunteering Policy, every employee receives three paid volunteer days per year to support causes they care about.

  • Inclusivity and wellbeing: We’ve established a Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality (W.I.D.E) Committee to create a workplace where every voice is heard and valued.

  • Promoting a healthy lifestyle: To encourage movement and wellbeing, we launched a company-wide walking challenge for our employees and we provide free fruit in all our offices.

Serving our customers

  • Maintaining excellence: Ensuring we are accredited for quality and compliance across all our services.

  • Listening to our clients: Regularly gathering client feedback and acting on it to improve the services we offer.

  • Earning trust and recognition: We’re proud to have achieved the Investor in Customers Gold award 2025, demonstrating our dedication to customer satisfaction.

  • Providing social value: We support our clients' local communities, through volunteering initiatives that create a lasting impact.
