Pennington Choices wins the quality assurance auditing for Warmer Homes Scotland funded by Scottish Government
Pennington Choices have recently received confirmation that their team of professional property surveyors have successfully secured a contract as the quality assurance agent to the Scottish Government’s Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland, primarily the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme.
Warmer Homes Scotland is designed to help vulnerable people make their homes warmer and more comfortable by installing a range of energy saving measures. Pennington Choices’ contract will run for five years and the surveying team will provide quality assurance audit services across the mainland and islands of Scotland. The team expect to complete 1200 Quality Assurance Inspections each year.
The Warmer Homes Scotland Program will be run by the managing agent Warmworks in partnership with the Scottish Government offering assistance to homeowners and private sector tenants struggling to heat their home. To qualify, the tenants must have lived in their property for at least six months, and meet the qualifying criteria. More information can be found on www.greenerscotland.org or by contacting Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282.
Due to the scale of this operation and the nature of the quality on-site technical audits scheduled to be undertaken by Pennington Choices, the surveyors’ services will be extremely varied. They will range from ensuring the correct measures have been recommended for the home and will certify the measures have been correctly installed. As is standard of Pennington Choices’ trusted service, before each audit is complete the team is committed to providing an excellent customer journey by making certain that the tenant has received the outstanding service level that Scottish Government would expect.
Shirley Quinn has been appointed by Pennington Choices to head up the Warmer Homes Scotland contract, on her appointment Shirley announced:
“I will be ensuring that Pennington Choices’ quality standards are firmly in place and I will take on the responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the quality assurance audit services. My focus will be to pay particular attention to the energy efficiency measures recommended and installed in each home, and that the customer has received first class customer service from the managing agent throughout the process”.
This contract marks the first occasion in which quality technical audits and consultancy services provided by Pennington Choices, of this scale, will be performed by the multi-disciplinary organisation in Scotland.
Shirley explained:
“Pennington Choices secured a new Glasgow hub earlier this year and I hope that our presence in Scotland will assist with our plans for growth north of the border”.
Works are scheduled to commence in the final quarter of 2015 and are estimated to complete in 2020.
