Onward Homes - Asbestos Services

Onward Homes, formerly known as Symphony Housing Group, own and manage over 35,000 homes across the regions of Southport and Stockport. Our asbestos team was appointed to provide a range of asbestos services across their housing stock.

The Challenge

We are supporting Onward with a range of asbestos services in line with HSG264 guidance across their housing stock. Our services include management surveys and air monitoring for occupied and void properties; management and refurbishment and demolition surveys ahead of planned maintenance programmes, four-stage clearance with re-occupation certification, post remedial works and asbestos surveys to all communal buildings and blocks.

What We Did

We have worked positively and productively with their team to successfully mobilise this significant contract, completing in excess of £1.3m of work to date. Supported by Green Road technology (a tracking device that give our customer services team a live view of our surveyors) we are able to comfortably meet the 48 hour turnaround time of void properties and respond to ad-hoc or emergency requests within hours.

Furthermore, we have two state of the art UKAS accredited asbestos laboratories to undertake bulk sample analysis and achieve our client’s quick turnaround times. Our surveys are produced as PDF documents and also as spreadsheet for direct integration into our client’s asset management system – Keystone.

We have added value by delivering UKATA accredited awareness training to the various members and further training on the use and understanding of survey reports and data.
