    Cosmopolitan Housing Association commissioned Pennington Choices to provide gas auditing and related consultancy services.
     

    The Challenge

    Cosmopolitan needed specialist gas installation expertise to support the delivery of its gas servicing, maintenance and new installation programmes.
     

    What We Did

    We planned and delivered a programme of sample audit inspections of gas installations, assessing the quality of the work done, generating a scored assessment, and providing a monthly trend report. In addition we carried out second opinions as and when required to ascertain that works recommended by the client’s contractors were necessary.
     

    Our Achievements

    As a result we ensured compliance with the then Audit Commission’s guidance on managing gas safety and best practice. Improvements in the performance of the contractor and quality of safety checks were also undertaken. Just as important, we helped the client to significantly reduce costs when we recommended alternative solutions following second opinion inspections.
