Regenda Homes - Damp and Mould Health Check

Regenda Homes (Regenda) is an award-winning Registered Social Housing provider with approximately 12,000 homes in Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Lancashire.  

Project Overview 

With increasing expectations around damp and mould management, particularly in anticipation of Awaab's Law, Regenda sought independent assurance that its existing processes, procedures, and operational practices were robust, effective, and aligned with sector best practice.

The objective was not only to validate current arrangements but also to provide confidence that the organisation was well positioned to continue delivering safe, healthy homes for residents. From this project, Regenda received a substantial assurance rating, meaning they are an organisation that has demonstrated strong governance, robust safety systems, and a deep rooted customer safety culture.

Our Approach 

Pennington Choices carried out a comprehensive Damp and Mould Health Check, reviewing Regenda's policies, procedures, governance arrangements, and operational delivery.

Working collaboratively with the Regenda team, we assessed how documented processes translated into day-to-day practice, identifying strengths and opportunities for continuous improvement while providing an independent perspective.

Throughout the project, both organisations worked closely together to ensure the review was completed efficiently and within the agreed timescales. 

Our Achievements

The Damp and Mould Health Check demonstrated that Regenda has developed a mature and well-established approach to damp and mould management.

Our review found that documented policies and procedures were clearly embedded within operational practice, providing confidence that processes are consistently understood and implemented across the organisation.

The project was delivered seamlessly, with clear communication, excellent preparation, and strong engagement from the Regenda team throughout.

As a result, Regenda has gained additional independent assurance over its approach while reinforcing its commitment to continuous improvement and delivering positive outcomes for residents.
